Two policemen killed in blast in Russia’s Dagestan
April 30th, 2010 - 12:54 am ICT by IANSMakhachkala (Russia), April 29 (IANS/RIA Novosti) Two police officers were killed and seven wounded in a blast near a police station in Russia’s North Caucasus republic of Dagestan Thursday, a police spokesman said.
“According to preliminary information, a Lada Priora car exploded near a police station killing two and wounding seven policemen,” he said.
He added that the car blew up when police stopped it to inspect the driver’s documents.
Russia has been fighting militants in the North Caucasus for almost two decades, including two brutal wars against separatists in Chechnya.
