Two guerrillas killed in Kashmir

Srinagar, July 28 (IANS) Security forces have gunned down two separatist guerrillas during a shootout in north Kashmir, military sources said Monday. Based on specific information, troops of 9 Para regiment Sunday evening launched an operation against terrorists hiding in a house in Surigam forest area of Lolab Tehsil in Kupwara district.
“During the gunfight two terrorists were killed,” a defence statement said. They had not been identified yet.
An AK-47 rifle has been recovered from the shootout site, the officials said.
