November 28th, 2008 - 6:11 pm ICT by IANS - Send to a friend:Mumbai, Nov 28 (IANS) Television news channels Friday discontinued their live coverage of the shootout between terrorists and commandos at the Nariman House in Mumbai following a request from security agencies.“The security agencies made a request in the morning that the terrorists will get information about their (commandos’) movement if we continue to show it live on television,” said a TV news channel journalist.
“Their request was immediately accepted seeing the gravity of the situation,” added the journalist, who wished not to be named.
However, telecast from the Taj, where terrorists were still holding an unknown number of people hostage, and the Oberoi hotel, where an operation was on to flush out terrorists, continued.
