London, June 2 (IANS) Outspoken actress Kathleen Turner has slammed the legendary actress Elizabeth Taylor’s acting abilities, saying her performances in the screen icon’s film remakes are better than the originals. Contactmusic.com reports that Turner took on Taylor’s role in “Cat On A Hot Tin Roof” in 1990, making her Broadway debut with the character that Taylor made famous in a 1958 movie. And the actress returned to New York’s renowned theatre district in 2005 to play the female lead in “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf” - the same role Taylor played in a 1966 film.
Turner said: “I’ve played lots of roles that Liz Taylor played and played them much better. I like to think of myself as fixing the roles that she played in ‘Cat On A Hot Tin Roof’ and ‘Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf’.”
