The air raid near Uludere village in the southeastern Sirnak province commenced at 9.00 p.m. (GMT) Wednesday, Turkey’s Hurriyet Daily News said.
“Unmanned drones and thermal cameras detected a big group [of individuals] on the Iraqi side of the border, and jets took off,” the newspaper quoted citing a news agency.
The Sirnak governor confirmed over 20 people were killed in the operation, the report said, adding that the victims were believed to be diesel smuggling peasants.
