Texas, Nov 15 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A meat processing company is recalling more than 2,600 pounds of cooked turkey. The recall has been necessitated by fear that the ready-to-eat smoked turkey breasts could be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The germ is potentially dangerous and can cause listeriosis.

The recall affects most of the company’s turkey products and each of the products has the USDA mark of inspection on its label.

The affected product includes 1-pound packages of the company’s Sliced Smoked Turkey with the package code 2210 inscribed on the label and 4 to 6 pound packages of the company’s Honey-Glazed Spiral Sliced Smokehouse Hickory Smoked Boneless Breast of Turkey with package code 2180. Two other affected products include 4 to 6 pound whole breast packages of Stegall Boneless Hickory Smoked Turkey Breast with package code 2210 and 4 to 6 pound whole breast packages of Stegall Spiral Sliced Hickory Smoked Turkey Breast with package codes 2180 or 2210.
