‘Trump’s question over Obama’s intelligence, background is racism by inference’

Washington, May 2 (ANI): An African-American Professor of the Georgetown University has termed business tycoon Donald Trump’s act of questioning Obama’s intelligence and background as “racism by inference”.
Trump had also reportedly asked Republicans to either embrace him or distance themselves.
“This is racism by inference. Skepticism about black intelligence and suspicion about black humanity have gone hand in hand throughout the history of this country in feeding the perception that black people don’t quite measure up,” Fox News quoted Eric Dyson, as saying.
Calling Obama’s academic credentials “unimpeachable,” Dyson pointed out Obama’s academic skills, including graduating magna cum laude from Harvard Law School and also being the first African-American to edit the Harvard Law Review.
“The reality is that Barack Obama has been called to account by a man who has nothing near the intellectual credibility or the social standing that the president has,” he added.
Challenging Trump over his comments that Obama managed to get admission in Columbia and Harvard University despite being a bad student, Dyson said: “I’d like to know, how does he get into Harvard? How does he get into Columbia if he isn’t a good student?”
Trump, who is thinking of making a run for the White House on a Republican ticket in 2012, had earlier demanded a copy of Obama’s birth certificate after his own birth certificate was declared a fake by New York’s Department of Health. (ANI)
