October 26th, 2010 - 5:25 pm ICT by IANSJalandhar (Punjab), Oct 26 (IANS) The Amritsar-bound Tata Moori Express derailed here Tuesday afternoon, railway officials said. But there was no report of injuries to passengers.
Just minutes after the train crossed the Jalandhar railway station, its five bogies, including an AC coach, went off the track, the officials said. The train runs between Delhi and Amritsar.
“The train derailed due to some repair work on the tracks. All passengers are safe,” Jalandhar railway station superintendent Ashok Kumar told IANS.
“But the rail traffic was disrupted for some time. Work is on to bring the coaches back on the track for further journey,” he added.
Jalandhar town is around 150 km from Chandigarh.
