Tornado wreaks havoc in Texas
October 26th, 2010 - 9:30 am ICT by IANSNew York, Oct 26 (IANS) A tornado injured many people, damaged several homes and derailed a few trains in the US state of Texas, officials said.
Four people suffered injuries, while many vehicles turned turtle and several homes and a school complex were damaged when a tornado hit Navarro county, 45 miles south of Dallas, late Sunday afternoon, officials said.
A truck travelling on an interstate highway overturned and hit a car, leaving four people injured, Navarro county chief deputy Mike Cox was quoted by Xinhua as saying.
Cox said some freight trains were derailed.
The US National Weather Service also reported that the tornado caused significant damage to several homes in the state.
