A state run news agency reports that the police have also found the place where the bodies were presumably burnt in steel drums. Bones reduced to ashes along with blood stains were also found on the ground that the police dug up. The police carried out the digging on a tip from an informant.

Nuevo Leon Governor Rodrigo Medina de la Cruz said to media sources on Saturday that the graves could be connected to drug gang violence. Nuevo Leon attorney general Alejandro Garza y Garza said to media sources that investigators believe that some of the unearthed bodies were buried as recently as 15 days ago. The bodies found are reportedly of males aged between 20 to 50 years.
