Baghdad, June 25 (Xinhua) At least three US soldiers and their interpreter have been killed in a roadside bomb attack in Iraq’s eastern province of Nineveh, officials said Wednesday. The incident took place at 10.45 p.m. (1945 GMT) Tuesday, a US military statement said. It, however, did not provide more details on the incident.
The province has been the scene of a major military crackdown launched by the US and Iraqi security forces against the Al Qaeda insurgents.
At least 4,000 US soldiers have been killed since the invasion of Iraq in March 2003, according to an estimate.
