Three Qaeda suspects arrested in Norway for role in post 9/11 plot
July 8th, 2010 - 5:16 pm ICT by ANILondon, July 8 (ANI): Norwegian Police have arrested three suspected al Qaeda members for planning “one of the most serious terrorist plots since 9/11″.
According to Sky News, the three were arrested in Oslo after being watched for over a year by Norwegian and US officials.
It is believed they were planning attacks similar to the one thwarted in the New York subway system last year.
Prosecutors believe there may be a link to a related plot in Manchester.
The Norwegian Police Security Service has said the three were arrested on suspicion of “preparing terror activities”. (ANI)
