Xinhua
Islamabad, April 25 (Xinhua) At least three people were killed and 30 injured in a bomb blast in Pakistan’s North West Frontier Province (NWFP) Friday. The blast occurred near a police station in Mardan city, about 60 km from the NWFP capital of Peshawar, The News reported.

A police officer, a hotel owner and a child were killed in the blast. Nearly 30 people, including 10 policemen, were injured.

Police have cordoned off the site. The injured were rushed to Mardan hospital for treatment. Seven people were reported to be in a critical condition.

Preliminary reports said the bomb was kept in a car. However, some TV channels reported that the bomb was planted near the wall of the police station.

Around 15 shops near the police station were destroyed in the blast.
