Three in jail for selling expired drugs
January 21st, 2012 - 3:29 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Beijing, Jan 21 (IANS) Three Chinese men who repackaged and sold expired medicines worth over $29,000 have been sent to jail.
The Hongkou District People’s Court Friday sentenced brothers Sun Gang and Sun Xiaoping to one year and 15 months in prison respectively, the Shanghai Daily reported Saturday.
A third man, Li Jianfang, was jailed for six months.
Prosecutors said the Sun brothers bought expired medicines from local residents at a low price and put them in new packages with new usage labels they collected from hospitals.
The three were caught in August last year and police seized 86 kinds of medicines and 4,196 drug packages from them.
