Three die as quake jolts Guatemala
September 20th, 2011 - 11:10 am ICT by IANSGuatemala City, Sep 20 (IANS) At least three people died in Guatemala Monday after a 5.8-magnitude earthquake hit the country.
The quake occurred near the city of Cuilapa, some 50 km south of the capital Guatemala City, Xinhua reported Tuesday.
According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the main quake hit at 12.34 p.m. at a depth of 39 km following a 4.8-magnitude quake 30 minutes earlier, while a third smaller tremor was registered later.
