Three cops, two Maoist rebels killed in Jharkhand

Ranchi, April 26 (IANS) Three policemen and two Maoist rebels were killed in a fierce gun battle in Jharkhand Saturday, the police said here. According to the police, Maoist rebels ambushed police vehicles on long range patrolling near Pokharia village of Dumka district, around 460 Km from here, Saturday morning.

In the ensuing gun battle, which lasted nearly three hours, three policemen, including officer-in-charge of Shikaripara police station Shamsad Ansari, were killed. The police claimed to have gunned down two rebels and captured one.
