Three bomb-like objects found in Punjab town
September 28th, 2008 - 1:15 pm ICT by IANSDerabassi (Punjab), Sep 28 (IANS) Police were summoned after three bomb-like objects were found in Derabassi town of Punjab, near Chandigarh, Sunday morning. Residents of Derabassi town, around 20 km from Chandigarh, alerted police when they sighted the three suspicious objects near the highway.
Police cordoned off the area and the bomb disposal squad was called.
“Preliminary investigations are on. We are trying to detect whether they are live bombs or not,” Talvir Singh Grewal, station house officer of Derabassi, told IANS.
