Three Bahraini women detained for ruckus in UN office
June 16th, 2011 - 3:33 am ICT by IANSManama, June 16 (IANS) Three Bahraini women, who entered the UN office and refused to leave, were detained by police here Wednesday, Xinhua reported.
The women identified as - Zainab Al Khawaja, Sawsan Jawad and Asma Darwish - were demanding the release of their family members detained by security authorities as part of the crackdown against anti- government protesters, said sources.
The Director General of the Capital governorate police said in a statement that they received a tip off from the UN office that three women entered the building after the official working hours and refused to leave when asked by officials.
A case has been filed against the three women who will face legal action, the official said.
