Thousands Of Jogging Strollers With Faulty Hinges Recalled

Jogging StrollersJan 22, (THAINDIAN NEWS) After complaints of several faulty jogging strollers hit the headlines, a recall has been issued for the faulty jogging strollers that have gone to cause serious injuries to the users. According to sources, as many as thousands of jogging strollers have been ordered for the recall after a typical finger injury wreaked havoc in many of its users.

Reports say that many of those who have been using the jogging strollers manufactured by U.S company Phil and Ted’s have faced a particular finger injury. The injury is an outcome of their fingers getting caught in the hinges of the jogging strollers. The accident has reaped such disastrous finger damages that reportedly, one of the victim’s finger had to be amputated! This was when the matter assumed a serious shape and concerned authorities decided to do something about it. The injuries have been caused by the Phil and Ted’s models of Sport V2 and the Classic V1. Records show all these models were sold over the span of two years ranging from May 2008 to July 2010. Both the Sport V2 and Classic V1 models are single- seated jogging strollers.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said that the necessary recall has been made in co-operation with the producers Phil and Ted’s which is based in Colorado. The recall includes 22,000 jogging strollers from United States while 7,000 has been recalled from Canada. Consumers have already been alarmed not to buy or use the affected models. Instead those who have already bought the models can are advised to contact Phil and Ted’s at 877-432-1642 so that they can go for a free hinge-cover kit for the strollers.
