Thieves in Moscow replace $700,000 with fakes
December 27th, 2011 - 8:05 pm ICT by IANSMoscow, Dec 27 (IANS/RIA Novosti) A total of 22 million rubles (over $700,000) have been stolen from a bank in northern Moscow and replaced with fake bank notes, a police source said Tuesday.
Bank employees discovered thousands of fake ruble, dollar and euro bank notes instead of real cash in the bank’s safe vault Monday afternoon, the source said.
A criminal case has been filed into the theft, with criminals, who remain untraced, facing up to 10 years in prison.
