Thief apologises to victim, makes off again with laptop
March 23rd, 2012 - 10:41 pm ICT by IANSLondon, March 23 (IANS) A shameless thief in Britain called at his victim’s house to apologise for stealing his computer - before making off with his replacement laptop.
Ivan Barker called at the house of wheelchair-bound Jacque Mathley in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffs, to say “sorry” for stealing his laptop and cigarettes three months previously.
But after convincing Mathely he had genuinely come to apologise, Barker was invited in by the man he had wronged, only to disappear with his replacement machine, Daily Mail reported Wednesday.
Barker, 21, had been allowed in to Mathely’s home after telling his victim the police had told him to apologise for the previous offence.
