Washington, August 2 (ANI): C. David Heymann, three-time-nominee for the Pulitzer Prize, has penned an explosive tome examining the love affair of Bobby Kennedy and Jackie Kennedy.

The author of “Bobby and Jackie, A Love Story,” which bagged the number eight spot on the New York Times bestseller list, spent more than twenty years quizzing friends, acquaintances and observers of the Kennedys.

The writer thinks it was the grief after the assassination of President Kennedy that stemmed the four-year affair between his younger brother Bobby and wife Jackie, reports Fox News.

Heymann believes Bobby, who shared 11 children with wife Ethel Kennedy, was Jackie’s “true love.”

Publishers Weekly said in their review: “Heymann delivers a gawk-worthy beach read … life for JFK and Jackie was less than perfect … Bobby volunteered to play surrogate father to her kids; before long, an affair began.

Gore Vidal recalled: “I suspect that the one person Jackie ever loved … was Bobby Kennedy. There was always something intimate in her voice when she mentioned him to me”. (ANI)
