The real Count Dracula is no moreNovember 23rd, 2007 - 1:01 pm ICT by admin
London, November 23 (ANI): The adopted descendant of the 15th century ruler Count Dracula passed away last weekend in a small German town, aged 67.
Ottomar Rodolphe Vlad Dracula Prince Kretzulesco, who was not a blood relative of Vlad the Impaler, joined his family member by marrying the latters descendant, Romanian princess Katharina Olympia Caradja.
Before marrying Princess Katharina, he lived the life of an ordinary man as Ottomar Berbig.
“Because she felt I looked like a typical Romanian, she decided to introduce me to the family,” the Mirror quoted late Ottomar as saying while talking about his first meeting with Princess Katharina.
Ottomars death has not brought the Dracula dynasty to an end, as his son Otti now inherits the name Count Dracula.
Vlad Dracula, who was renowned for his cruelty, was the inspiration behind novelist Bram Stokers tale of the bloodsucking vampire who lived in a crumbling Transylvanian castle. (ANI)
