‘The Love Guru’ reminds Kingsley of Roman timesJuly 4th, 2008 - 8:43 pm ICT by IANS
London, July 4 (IANS) Oscar winning actor Ben Kingsley jumped at the idea of working in the comedy “The Love Guru” because seasonal movies remind him of ancient Roman times. Contactmusic.com reports that the 64-year-old has even signed on to act in next year’s summer movie “Prince Of Persia” after having worked with the comedian Mike Myers in “The Love Guru”. He says he doesn’t want to stop acting in summer releases because their popularity is extraordinary.
He said: “I love them (summer blockbusters). They’re the grand arena in the Roman Empire, they’re the chariot race, they’re the mass entertainment. They’re the Coliseum, not the little Greek tragedy in the corner. Very important and wonderful.”
