The long and short of British law
September 8th, 2010 - 1:32 pm ICT by IANSLondon, Sep 8 (IANS) They are the long and short of the law. British police official Natasha Timothy is dwarfed by her crime-fighting partner, Anthony Wallyn who is two feet taller than her.
The police officials were on duty outside the Royal Courts of Justice in central London Monday, Daily Express reported Tuesday.
While Timothy is 5 feet 2 inches tall, Wallyn is 7 feet 2 inches tall.
Till the early 1990s, some police forces had operated height requirements which was 5 feet 10 inches for male recruits and 5 feet 4 inches for women.
However, no British forces have a minimum height. But applicants have to clear a series of physical tests.
