Dec 22, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Stephen Griffiths, notoriously known as “the crossbow cannibal” has finally been sentenced to lifetime imprisonment without any parole, after finding guilty of barbarously murdering several women. He killed three women over a period of 11 months and apparently used a crossbow to hit their head, take their life and eat them partially.
One of his victims was identified as Rebecca Hall, a nineteen year old sex worker, who was also the mother of a four month old child, Jason. Her body was recovered by the UK police at an alleyway in Bradford in April 2001, with bruises and scars all over her uncovered body, that clearly determined that that she “sustained, vicious and brutal beating”. Stephen Griffiths is also the suspected killer of two more women, Gemma Simpson, 23 and Yvonne Fitt, 33. Where the former had no apparent involvement with flesh trade, the latter was a sex worker. When he was first arrested by the detectives, the officials got to know that he had been involved in the murder cases of six women. At that time, the barbaric murderer took the name of three women excluding Rebecca Hall, namely Susan Rushworth, Shelley Armitage and Suzanne Blamires. However, when asked about Rebecca Hall, he refused to cooperate with the police.
Rebecca Hall’s mother Angela Hall wants the investigation to go against his favor, so that her daughter’s soul can rest in peace. Nevertheless, Angela Hall, like many other people, are wondering, how can a human eat up another human. The criminal had past records of psychological turbulences. He was a PhD student of criminology at Bradford University, specializing in a thesis on murderers. Experts say that perhaps that it what he was too fascinated with, that finally took a toll on his mental stability.
