Washington, May 19 (ANI): The movie adaptation of The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian topped the weekend box office, earning 56.6 million dollars.
The opening meant that the movie also took the title of being the year’s second strongest opener.
However, the opening was still less than the first Narnia movie, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, which raked in 65.6 million dollars in its opening weekend.
Second place Robert Downer Jr, Gwyneth Paltrow starrer Iron Man continued to make money, raking in 31.2 million dollars in its third week.
Coming in third on the list was Ashton Kutcher and Cameron Diaz’s What Happens in Vegas with an earning of 13.9 million dollars, as per figures compiled by Exhibitor Relations.
The top five was rounded off by the Emile Hirsch starrer Speed Racer which raked in 7.6 million dollars, and Greg Kinnears Baby Mama, which raked in 4.5 million dollars. The two movies came in fourth and fifth place respectively.
