The best of Aussies’ worst real-world sex-tastrophies to air on ABC sitcom
December 18th, 2010 - 6:34 pm ICT by ANIMelbourne, Dec 18 (ANI): Australians willing to expose their stories of break-ups, failed romances and bedroom antics can now do so on a new ABC1 sitcom.
Writers of ‘Laid’ want to screen each story as shorts at the end of each episode.
And even though its tempting enough to take revenge, competitors have to follow a set of rules, which include not giving away any details, including names that might identify the ex.
‘Laid’ co-creator Kirsty Fisher said the show wanted amusing anecdotes.
“It’s keeping it light-hearted and a little bit twisted, rather than dark,” News.com.au quoted Fisher as saying.
“Were they the romantic person who serenaded someone every day outside their window?
“We’re hoping it’s a chance for people to tell us amusing anecdotes of ways things ended, or what happened after something ended . . . it’s also a chance to say what sort of ex you are,” she added.
The six-part ABC series is a black comedy about a woman, Roo McVie, who looks back “at all her exes as they start to die”, Fisher said.
“The tone of the show is a gentle, black romantic comedy. It’s got a lot of heart to it despite the fact that these highly unusual things are happening to our main character,” she stated. (ANI)
