The $1.6m car that has diamonds, rubies…and seats made of whale penis!
October 16th, 2009 - 11:58 am ICT by ANISydney, October 16 (ANI): A Russian carmaker has used the skin of whale penis for seat covers in a new SUV.
Dartz Prombron Monaco Red Diamond Edition, priced at 1.6 million dollars, is an armoured car developed by RussoBaltique. The company has built armoured vehicles for Tsar Nicholas, Vladimir Lenin and Leon Trotsky in the past.
The official website of the company revealed that the whale-penis leather is the same as that used by Greek shipping magnate Aristotle Onassis on the yacht Christina O.
Rumors suggest that Onassis, which was the world’s most expensive yacht at the time, had some of the barstools on the yacht covered by doubtful leather.
Apart from the whale penis leather, the Prombron boasts of gold plated bulletproof windows, exhaust made of tungsten, diamonds and rubies encrusted gauges.
And to top it all, the exterior has a Kevlar coating, reports the Sydney Morning Herald.
Also keeping in mind the love of Russians for vodka, three bottles of the world’s most expensive vodka, RussoBaltique, has been stored inside.
However, the website warns prospective buyers not to drink and drive.
The vehicle will be put up at the Top Marques luxury motor show in Monaco next year. (ANI)
