‘Thanks,’ lawyer tells rape victim
December 8th, 2010 - 3:36 pm ICT by IANSMelbourne, Dec 8 (IANS) An Australian criminal lawyer accused of raping a woman allegedly thanked the victim and walked off after the assault, a media report said Wednesday.
According to documents tendered at the Melbourne Magistrates Court, Alastair Grigor allegedly pushed the victim onto a car bonnet and raped her in September last year, the Herald Sun reported.
The victim told police that the pair met at a hotel in Collingwood, a suburb of Melbourne.
As the hotel was closing, they walked down a nearby street and kissed on a corner before going into a car park, the report said. Grigor then raped her, the victim alleged.
When a police officer asked the victim if Grigor spoke to her after the assault, she replied: “No. Just ‘Thanks for that’ and he walked off.”
