Terrorists want to destroy Afghanistan: President Karzai

Taliban Kabul, March 21 (Xinhua) Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai described terrorists as the enemies of peace in his country and strongly condemned the terrorist attack in eastern Nangarhar province that claimed the lives of six persons on the first day of Afghan New Year Saturday.
“The president said the enemies of Afghanistan by carrying out such coward attacks have shown that they want nothing except killing Afghans and destruction of Afghanistan,” said a press release issued by Presidential Palace.

Six persons including five civilians and one policeman were killed and four, all of them civilians, were injured in the attack, according to the press release.

In the press release the president also extended condolences with the families of the victims.

Taliban-linked militancy have claimed the lives of nearly three dozen people elsewhere in Afghanistan over the past two days while Afghans celebrated their New Year March 21.
