Terror threats to Madhya Pradesh townsAugust 15th, 2008 - 1:34 am ICT by IANS
Bhopal, Aug 14 (IANS) Security has been tightened in five Madhya Pradesh towns after a letter threatened terror attacks similar to the Ahmedabad bombings, the police said Thursday. “The letter received by the SDM (sub-divisional magistrate) Niyaz Ahmad yesterday (Wednesday) says that blasts similar to the Ahmedabad blasts will be carried out at several places in Gwalior, Khandwa, Ujjain, Datia and Bhopal,” Gwalior Police Superintendant V.K. Suryavanshi told IANS.
“The letter prima facie appears to be a mischief of someone as it also mentions the names of two local residents who according to the letter would execute the blasts. We are, however, taking no chances and more police force has been deployed at the places mentioned in the letter”, he said.
