Television Reporter Charles Leaf Taken Into Custody For Sexually Assaulting Minor

chra Much acclaimed television reporter Charles Leaf is making headlines for all the wrong reasons lately. The popular journalist was taken into custody on Thursday from his Wyckoff home for allegedly molesting a four-year-old girl. Following the incident, it has been reported that the reporter who worked for Fox 5 television station has been suspended from his job pending further investigation.

Authorities have divulged that after his detention, Charles Leaf is currently been held at the Bergen County Jail on a bail of $250,000 while his arraignment is all set to take place on November 4. The television reporter faces charges of aggravated sexual assault on a minor as well as endangering the welfare of children, according to police authorities. However, at the moment other details pertaining to Charles Leaf’s arrest has not been available to the media. In the meanwhile, a spokesperson of Fox 5 is said to have confirmed to a news source that the station is well aware of the entire matter and the 40-year-old journalist has been suspended till further investigation. While divulging details of the matter, Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli told reporters that the girl who has been sexually assaulted by the reporter was one of his ‘acquaintance’ but the exact relationship between them is not known.

Sources have, however, revealed that on Thursday Charles Leaf called up the station to say that he would not be able to report for work that due to some family issues giving no hints that he had been arrested. Charles Leaf joined Fox 5 in the year 2006 and has won two Emmy Awards for his work as a television reporter, the station’s official website reads.
