Jan 27, (THAINDIAN NEWS) A panel consisting of US judges will take a decision on the controversial case of teenager Jordan Brown, a 13 year old accused of killing the fiancee of his dad. The judges now need to take a stand on whether the boy should be tried as a normal adult convict and given life sentence or does he deserve juvenile correction home? The superior Court of Pennsylvania is now awaiting an appeal from the defense lawyers fighting this case who are insisting the teen should be sent to a juvenile facility. The legal implications and brutal crime have made the task of the judges much more difficult than usual.
When the gruesome crime took place Jordan Brown was a chubby 11 year old school boy and he shot down Kenzie Houk. The lady was 8 months pregnant at that time. He allegedly shot her with a shotgun from close range after his father had left for work. He left the scene and went to his school while the toddler of the shot woman was left to witness the horrific scene. This was termed by the lawyers as a twin murder. The case has drawn a lot of media attention in the last two years and experts are divided on their opinion how the tee should be dealt with for his crime.
Amnesty International has asked for the release of the teen saying if he gets convicted like an adult he will never be freed. The case was not moved to juvenile court earlier since the judges said that the boy did not repent once for his actions.
