Hualapai, May 9 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Swiss “Jetman” Yves Rossy say he will not go ahead with his announced flight over the Grand Canyon because he didn’t have much time to train for the experience. He planned to fly on Friday morning in his “winged” suit.

In an interview with the Associated Press, the Jetman said he will rather be sure about the flight than sorry.

He said that, “If I do a mistake and half of U.S. television (is here), it’s really bad for you, for me, for everybody.”

The Jetman’s planned flight seemed to be in advanced stage when he called it off. The Federal Aviation Administration gave the all-clear for the Jetman to fly over the Grand Canyon. It would have been the first flight for the Jetman in the United States. Outside of the United States, the Jetman has surmounted some challenges including flying over the English Channel. Even before he achieved that feat, the Jetman had always talked about flying over the Grand Canyon.

He insists that he has not completely abandoned the whole experience but he has not indicated when he plans to do that.

Each of Jetman’s flights is supervised closely by aviation officials due to the dangers involved.
