Susan Boyle charges 8,000 pounds a minute for live performanceJune 14th, 2009 - 11:42 pm ICT by IANS
London, June 14 (IANS) Scottish singing sensation Susan Boyle, who lives on a mere 130 pounds a week, has raised her bar now and is charging 8,000 pounds a minute to perform live.
Boyle, who finished as a runner-up on the talent hunt show “Britain’s Got Talent”, is being booked by corporate clients for as much as 100,000 pounds per a 12-minute set, reports newsoftheworld.co.uk.
That comes out to be 8,333 pounds a minute, which is 140 pounds a second - 10 pounds more than the 129.64 pounds a week the singer lives on.
“She’s the biggest star to have come out of ‘Britain’s Got Talent’, so her price to sign reflects that,” said a source close to the singer.
“These fees mean it will take 10 dates for her to make a million pounds, which is unprecedented for a talent show winner,” the source added.
A show insider said: “Now we can start making her some serious money. We have to do it soon to capitalise on the huge interest in her, especially in America.”
Boyle’s bookings are being handled by Andrew Pountain of Industry Music Group. They have been hired exclusively to book out all the show’s finalists.
