Chicago, Mar 21, (THAINDIAN NEWS ) “Chicago, Chicago, that toddlin’ town”- Undoubtedly, Fred Fisher meant it earnest as he bragged about Chicago. Now, as it seems the month of May shall give one more reason for all to visit the Windy City of America. As the Navy Piers spokeswoman said, Chicago visitors in the month of May shall have a chance to scout the skies of Chicago city as they ride the white balloon.
New York-based AeroScape-NYC LLC has been given a lifetime approval to carry out balloon rides operated in seasons across the city skyline. AeroScape-NYC LLC was granted permission to charter the skies of Chicago nearing the western block of Navy Piers that starts from May and continues up to the month of September. According to the lease approved by the Chicago Planning Commission, the details of the lease has not been officially announced, although as it is being said that Navy Pier is entitled to receive a funding of $50,000 in rent that is to be followed by a certain percentage derived from the gross ticket sales. The white balloons making the ride is capable of accommodating 15-17 passengers and the rides will be priced at a rate of $25 for all adults and $15 for all children who are under 13 years.
However everything isn’t that happy altogether. On a different note, John O’Connell, who belongs to the advocacy group called “Friends of the Park” doesn’t approve of the decision for allowing the balloon rides to operate this season. John O’Conell is of the opinion that these white balloon rides will impose a block thus cutting off the view of Lake Michigan completely. The White balloon rides shall be in operation from 8 in the morning and shall last to 10 in the evenings.
