Sudanair plane makes emergency landing
October 3rd, 2011 - 5:29 am ICT by IANSKhartoum, Oct 3 (IANS) Over 45 passengers survived after a Sudanair passenger plane made an emergency landing here at Khartoum airport Sunday following a technical snag.
The Fokker 50 plane was on a normal flight between Sudan’s capital Khartoum and South Sudan’s Malakal city, Xinhua reported.
Airport authorities had to close the roads near the airport and support the runway sides with sand to ensure the plane’s safe landing.
“The plane has safely landed and no one was hurt during the emergency landing,” said Abdul-Hafez Abdul-Hafeez, spokesman of the Sudanese Civil Aviation Authority, in a statement.
