Study on status of Hindu temples proposed in Malaysia
November 27th, 2010 - 5:31 pm ICT by ANIKuala Lumpur, Nov 27 (ANI): Malaysia Hindu Sangam President R.S. Mohan Shan has said that the number of Hindu temples built in the country since independence needs to be verified.
The Star quoted Shan as saying that without the correct figures, it would be difficult to know the number of temples undergoing renovation or being demolished.
After getting varied results by different political parties and non-governmental organisations about the number of Hindu temples, the Malaysia Hindu Sangam had started a five-year plan to register Hindu temples nationwide.
He said that with the help of the Sakthi Organisation, the committee has obtained details of 3,400 temples over the past two years. (ANI)
