Strong quake jolts Japan’s Ryukyu Islands
May 26th, 2010 - 8:16 pm ICT by IANSTokyo, May 26 (IANS) A magnitude 6.1 quake struck Japan’s Ryukyu Islands Wednesday, but no tsunami warning was issued, Xinhua reported.
The quake occurred at 5.53 p.m., with its epicentre 10 km under the sea off south Daito Island, some 400 km east of Okinawa Island, Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) said.
There was no immediate report of casualties or damage.
