Springsteen having an affair with my wife, says man in divorce papers
April 11th, 2009 - 8:44 am ICT by IANSNew York, April 11 (IANS) A New Jersey man has named Bruce Springsteen for having an affair with his wife in his divorce papers.
Arthur Kelly, a 45-year-old mortgage broker, has filed for divorce from his wife of 17 years, alleging that she was carrying on an affair with the singer who is known by the nickname of The Boss.
Springsteen, who has been married to his band mate Patti Scialfa for 18 years, has not yet personally commented on the infidelity charges.
The York Post said Springsteen’s camp did not outright deny the claim, but they reiterated a statement that the singer had made in 2006 following his marital difficulties with his wife.
The paper quoted the singer as saying, “Patti and I have been together for 18 years - the best 18 years of my life. We have built a beautiful family we love and want to protect and our commitment to one another remains as strong as the day we were married.”
Springsteen and Patti have three children.
The singer was previously married to actress Julianna Phillips whom he divorced in 1989.
The divorce papers were filed in Superior Court in Monmouth County about two weeks ago.
