Spring gala for overseas Chinese
January 13th, 2012 - 4:17 am ICT by IANSBeijing, Jan 13 (IANS) A function was organised here for the non-resident Chinese to celebrate the country’s traditional Spring Festival.
Thursday’s event was attended by senior officials like Jia Qinglin, chairman of the Chinese people’s political consultative conference national committee.
A large number of non-resident Chinese and their relatives participated, reports Xinhua.
The Spring Festival, or the Chinese Lunar New Year, falls on Jan 23 this year.
The State Council’s Overseas Chinese Affairs Office has organised it every year since 2009.
