Spitzer’s Manhattan madam Kristin Davis gets early end to probation
November 10th, 2010 - 6:06 pm ICT by ANINew York, Nov 10 (ANI): A week after former Manhattan madam Kristin Davis lost her bid for governor, Supreme Court Justice Thomas Farber agreed to put an early end to her probation by slicing three years off her term.
Davis, who pleaded guilty more than two years ago to promoting prostitution, once supplied hookers to disgraced ex-Governor Eliot Spitzer. She ran for governor on the Anti-Prohibition Party line, pushing for the legalization of marijuana and gay marriage.
Davis reportedly started her five-years probation in October 2008 after spending three months in jail.
According to the New York Post, Farber agreed with Davis’ defense that she has served enough time and brought an immediate end to her original five-year probation term.
“She’s very happy today. The probation services that had been provided to her were no longer serving any useful purpose,” defense lawyer Daniel Hochheiser said.
“In my mind, she paid her debt and the sentence that was served is appropriate. Any more would have not accomplished anything,” he added.
Probation authorities did not oppose the defense request to end her sentence now, while the DA objected.
The ex-madam lost her bid for governor by securing only 22,000 votes, the paper said. (ANI)
