New York, Jan 15 (ANI): Planning to become the historic witness of both the swearing-in of Barack Obama and his inaugural parade? Well, then you are in for disappointment, for no matter how hard you try you wont be able to attend both the events.

The January 20 inauguration day events are expected to attract crowds of more than two million.

District of Columbia Mayor Adrian Fenty and security officials have revealed that those watching the noontime oath-taking from the National Mall will not be allowed to walk north to Pennsylvania Avenue for the 2:30 p.m. parade.

“You will not be able to go to both,” the New York Daily News quoted Fenty as saying.

Instead JumboTrons will be set up for the spectators who want to see both the events.

District Police Chief Cathy Lanier said that the Mall should be open around 4 a.m., and standing room for the parade will be available at 7 a.m.

And in what is being touted to be the heaviest ever security cover for any inauguration, over 20,000 local, state and federal police, along with unarmed National Guardsmen, will be on the vigil.

“We have no credible intelligence to suggest a credible threat,” said Mark Sullivan, the Secret Service Director.

However, officials have revealed that federal agencies have seen a rise in hate talk by white supremacists.

“That chatter is out there, no doubt about it,” said one senior FBI agent. (ANI)
