Vienna, June 27 (DPA) Spain booked their place in the final of Euro 2008 with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Russia in the semi-final played Thursday in the Ernst Happel stadium in Vienna. Xavi Hernandez opened the scoring for Luis Aragones’ side on 50 minutes, guiding home an Andres Iniesta cross, while substitute Daniel Guiza doubled Spain’s lead 17 minutes from time after latching on to perfectly weighted through ball from Cesc Fabregas.

David Silva made it 3-0 on 82 minutes with Fabregas once again the provider.

The victory sets up a clash at the same venue Sunday against three-time winners Germany, who beat Turkey 3-2 in the other semi- final played Wednesday.

Spain have reached European Championships final twice before, beating the Soviet Union in 1964 and losing to hosts France in 1984.
