South African president meets Hillary Clinton in Durban

Johannesburg, Aug 8 (Xinhua) South Africa’s President Jacob Zuma met the visiting US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton Saturday in the port city of Durban.
“In both countries there are two new administrations which are taking the relationship a level higher. That is what we are trying to do,” Zuma said after the 45-minute long meeting.
“He (Zuma) gave his views on regional issues from Zimbabwe, Somalia and Sudan. His advice on these issues was extremely helpful,” Clinton said a media briefing.
She also noted that her visit to South Africa was reaffirmation of the relations between the two countries.
“President Barack Obama and President Zuma met during the G8 Summit and discussed a number of issues.
“My visit to South Africa was to ensure that their expectations are met,” she said.
Clinton is on an 11-day trip to the continent. She has already visited Kenya and after South Africa will travel to Angola, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Nigeria, Liberia and Cape Verde.
