South Africa need 99 in 16.2 overs to win U-19 World CupMarch 2nd, 2008 - 8:25 pm ICT by admin
Kaula Lumpur, March 2 (IANS) India will have to defend a score of 116 runs in 25 overs against South Africa after the target was revised following rain-interruption in the U-19 World Cup final here Sunday. South Africa, who were precariously placed at 17 for three in 8.4 overs when rain stopped play, will now have to score another 99 in 16.2 overs at the Kinrara Oval here.
In the morning, testing spells of fast bowling by Wayne Parnell (2/21) and Matthew Arnold (2/30), helped South Africa bowl out India for a paltry 159.
Right from the first over - a maiden by Parnell - India, with the exception of Tanmay Srivastava (46), never looked like scoring fluently. South African also fielded with energy inside the circle to choke the Indian batsmen of every scoring opportunity.
