So will they meet?
November 27th, 2009 - 11:36 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )Port of Spain, Nov.27 (ANI):SMK and SMQ. Well they might, or then again, they might not. This is the question and that is the answer at every multilateral summit where India and Pakistan participate.
Indian External Affairs Minister S.M.Krishna yesterday said there has been no request made by Pakistan, but then, India isn’t averse to engaging with them so long as they are aware about Indian’s concerns.
The Prime Minister too had said ‘nothing is planned in the horizon.’
Krishna arrived here a day earlier than the Prime Minister for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), a grouping of 53 former British colonies.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has also arrived here.
So far, his agenda only includes meeting his counterparts as ‘asides’ during the conference, attend a reception jointly hosted by Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago and Secretary General of Commonwealth, a sports breakfast organized by Commonwealth Games Federation and a dinner hosted by the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago. A token meeting between Qureshi and Krishna, however, cannot be ruled out. Nothing much will come out of it, but the process of ‘engagement’ could at least get a fillip. (ANI)
