images11Jan 12, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Following the snow storm threat railway officials in New York were forced to make changes in the services. The Long Island Rail Road on Tuesday itself announced that they will be limiting the services from Tuesday itself. The National Weather Service has announced for a major snow storm alert saying that a massive winter storm is expected to hit the entire region on Wednesday. New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg has already announced for a state emergency requesting the people to be extremely cautious about the weather effects.

No sooner did the news of the snow storm broke out when Long Island Rail Road authorities decided to announce for the limited services. According to sources, the LIRR authorities will be constantly monitoring the weather updates based on which they will decide for the services. The authorities of one of the busiest commuter railroad in the northern part of the country said that passengers in order to know about the train services must keep a constant eye at the official website of MTA, where by logging in at www.mta.info will give them the updates about the LLIR services.

It has already been announced that after Tuesday evening there ill be no overnight and morning services in between Montauk and Speonk. The reason behind the LLIR authorities canceling the train services were obvious after a few weeks ago a severe blizzard had shook Long Island dumping around 20 inches of snow. However, it is not only the cancellations of the train services in the New York region. Airport authorities also decided to announce for the cancellations of several flights.
