Washington, August 26, 2010 (Just Flashed): On Tuesday, a snake slid into a switch box outside an infirmary in New York. Obviously, one consequence of that was that the snake breathed its last breath. The other ramification was that a power outage was engendered in the infirmary that lasted for 10 hours.

The name of the abovementioned infirmary happens to be the Vassar Brothers Hospital that is located in Poughkeepsie. The concierges of the infirmary have divulged that the backup generators kicked in the afternoon on Tuesday. That was on account of the fact that a snake, of a widespread sort, had entered into the switch box. This act of the snake interrupted the central power supply of the infirmary. Employees of the infirmary eventually found the departed snake inside the box.

The representatives of the infirmary have articulated that the interruption in the power supply did not jeopardize the care provided to the patients. The outage continued from 3 p.m. on Tuesday to 1 a.m. on Wednesday. Some medical cases, which were being dealt with in the crisis rooms, had to be rerouted to other infirmaries.

It has been observed in the past that squirrels and other undersized creatures were at fault for penetrating electrical apparatuses and producing outages. A utility spokesperson has, however, declared that this is the initial time he has been acquainted with a snake doing it.
